I really enjoyed reading your reflections on Arthur, which I always thought were intelligent and humorous animations. I had no idea that it had continued for so long though, or that it had gone on to delve into such forward thinking topics!

I loved Arthur - I can still remember that theme tune :) I love how the cartoon is known for tackling modern storylines. Thank you for sharing this great write-up

This is one of my favourite shows for kids and I love watching it with my nieces and nephews. I remember Mark Brown showed a few times how he drew arthur's character with a pencil. I thought it was neat to give such details to kids, spark their curiosity about art and drawing.

That’s such a great story. The art and themes certainly made this a classic. Thank you for reading.

I was fortunate to meet Marc Brown and see him at a "reading" (actually a "drawing") shortly before he retired. It was a wonderful afternoon. It was a mix of kids and adults in the bookshop.

Now that is amazing. When you watch or read about him, as I have done for research, he comes across as such a nice man. Thanks for commenting.

I’m only familiar with the books but your post makes me want to find the animated series. We could all stand to be more like Arthur!

I love Arthur! DW and Francine are my favorite characters. I did always struggle with the idea that Arthur had a dog, though 😂

I know what you mean about the dog. Although not Disney, in Disney animations characters that are dressed can have a pet that is ‘undressed’ So you have characters like Mickey Mouse able to take Pluto outfit a walk. Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to comment.
