Nice article! A great look at music and its importance in animation.
I have watched all of these, but I really enjoyed watching and listening to Steven Universe. The animation, backgrounds, music, and story are all excellent.
I love this look at music in cartoons! It’s true that iconic soundtracks become culturally significant - and a lot of these songs are instantly recognisable. Thanks for sharing :)
Music is one of the most critical things about making animation memorable. From the first usage of it in soundtracks in the late 1920s up until now, it underlines and defines what really helps the hearts of series and films beat.
Such iconic music, an absolutely huge part of my childhood. The kids I teach love Do The Bartman as well - it’s on our class playlist. I had no idea it was that old! They’ll love hearing that it’s older than me because they think I’m ancient 😂
I will never forget The Simpson's musical version of Planet of the Apes. "I hate every ape I see, from chimpan-A to chimpan-Z". Classic. Those episodes showed their love and understanding of music!
These essays are really interesting in the way they investigate the ideas of cultural influence. So fascinating! It’s strange the way this music comes back to us so easily, as emotions and nostalgia.
I really enjoyed this look at music in animation! I think that music is so relevant to the ways in which animated films and shows resonate with us. Thank you 😊
Thank you. It was fun to write and shows how much music now resonates from animation in popular culture. Thank you for reading.

It’s such an iconic tune and works with the show so well.
Pure brilliance. Thanks for reading 😁
