Thank you for that. I know, I think that it’s really aged well.

When the copyright to Peter Pan ran out, a unique law was passed so that the UK rights to Peter Pan go to Great Ormond Street Hospital in perpetuity. There is also a statue of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens that was put up overnight, so children would think it appeared magically.

Thanks so much for the delightful backstory. I've always loved Disney's Peter Pan. I don't know when I first saw it but I had no idea it was 70 years old!

Oh, I loved Peter Pan! It remains one of my favourites, and I remember re-living the magic of it with my own kids when they were younger. It was also the first production I saw at the theatre as a child; a magical evening where the cast flew over the audience, leaving me wishing to be Wendy Darling! Thank you for sharing :)

I definitely agree with you about Conreid- his Hook is the definitive one in my mind. Although he appeared in many live action films, I really think animation voice acting was his forum. This and his brilliant portrayal of Snidely Whiplash in the "Dudley Do Right" series ought to convince other people as well.

The only "negative" aspect of the film (other people say this but I don't entirely agree) is the portrayal of the Indigenous characters as shallow stereotypes. Even as a kid, watching the film and listening to the record soundtrack, I thought they possibly could have done without "What Made The Red Man Red?".
