We discovered this series when our son was a preschooler. I think it was on repeat for a couple of years, mostly because my husband and I enjoyed it as much or more than he did. We eventually rented it so many times that we asked if we could buy it and did. If I still had a VHS player I would watch it right now and laugh once again!
So it was a Cosgrove-Hall show, like "Danger Mouse" and "Count Duckula".
For some reason or another, this is one British animated show that didn't really take off in North America. Probably because some of them have no idea what or where Wales is...
I've been waiting for Fireman Sam! Such a great show, the revamp as well. I have always wondered about the time that went into the claymation. Fascinating, there can't be much money in it either, so it's really a labor of love.
Fireman Sam is a stroke of genius. They used to have to use cling film for the water too 🤩
Great newsletter! I remember watching this as a child. I love that two ex-firemen started the cartoon :)
I know what you mean. We did the same with our two. I think Elvis might have been my favourite closely followed by Norman Price 🙃
It’s a cracking show. When my two were younger I also did the steering 😁
Me too. His voice was just perfect for the show. Thank you for reading.
I used to love John Alderton's voices! I had no idea a film, musical or stage show had been made from this show, though. Thank you for sharing :)

This is awesome, Jon. My two youngest love this show, and it's one I constantly try to steer them towards when we are watching together.

You are so right. DM was such a classic show too.
