Long distance Clara was a firm favourite and Molly and Polly. Pigeon street was the hidden gem of children’s programmes, a little like mr Benn that you reviewed before.
I loved Pigeon Street as a little kid. My fave was Long Distance Clara (🎶driving through the night🎶) and Rosie (the football loving granny), but Gerald was annoying even to a tiny girl!
You are so right Gerald was so irritating. Think Long Distance Clara and Mr Macadoo were such good characters. The Molly and Polly song just sticks in your head. 🎶
Thanks for another great recommendation I haven’t come across before (in the US I guess). Your newsletter is perfect timing to introduce these to my son! I really love tactile animation.

Thanks for reading. It was a real gem in animation and was of simpler times.
I also liked Long Distance Clara best! I had forgotten about Mr Baskerville and and some of the others, though. Thanks for the nostalgic reminder :)

It was such an under-rated classic. It had it all. Thank so much for replying. 🐦
Happy to help. It’s great to hear each week from people around the world. Animation really seems to travel well. Thanks so much for commenting.

It was great animation but it didn’t travel to the US. Really simple stories with great songs. Thanks for realising and replying. 🤩
Loved this programme so much as a kid!
Always glad to learn about relatively obscure British cartoons I would have otherwise known about as an American.
