When I was very small, there was a coin-operated booth thingy outside a supermarket near us that played Mighty Mouse cartoons. My folks used to park us there while they started the monthly shop (mostly cos we were easily bored, and a bit of a hazard in the shop!).
I’d forgotten about that til now - and I’ve also got the theme tune in my head! 😂
Aha! You neglected to mention that Ralph Bakshi (Fritz the Cat) and John Kricfalusi (Ren & Stimpy) were the supervising and senior directors of The New Adventures.
That’s so cool. We didn’t have anything quite as ace. A small ride on a horse that went forward and back. I’ve lived a sheltered life 😁
It had some great music, not sure why it took the operatic route? Thanks so much for reading.
Great write-up, as always, although I confess to not remembering Mighty Mouse!
I know. Like many characters I guess. Mickey Mouse would have been called Monty if Walt Disney’s wife hadn’t stepped in.
The best theme music! I hadn’t thought of this for many years. Now I’ll have it in my head this whole World Cup final 😂

I never watched Mighty Mouse but I love this history of the cartoon - it’s interesting that he almost had a different name!

You are so right. I always try and cover all bases, some you win. Thanks for the catch, and for reading it. All the best.
Thanks for a great post, Jon! didn’t realise it had been going quite so long.
