I was an avid Muppets fan, so always saw this as less engaging than that (probably because I was a bit older), but your facts are fascinating. I never realised the complexity or messaging behind the show. Also: I now have you to thank for having the catchy theme tune in my head...

Muppets were, of course, amazing, and without them, Fraggle Rock wouldn't have existed. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.

I don't think I ever saw Fraggle Rock, but you make me want to go and find it. A world of parallel lives seems especially relevant (they ate the architecture!).

Watch out for the theme tune if you watch it. It will get into your head. Thanks for reading.

I absolutely loved Fraggle Rock as a kid (and have the theme song in my head now, gee thanks - that earworm will take days to go!). There were also accompanying early reader books that we had a few of. I particularly remember The Doozer Who Didn’t, which gave an origin story for a lazy Doozer turning into the first Fraggle. They really went to town with the world-building!

I love that connection.

Fraggle Rock may be the most well-written children's show of all time.

There was also an animated series. It lasted only a season, and it couldn't compare to the original, but I enjoyed it as a kid too. The original is a masterpiece of children's TV, though.

You might well be right there. It was incredibly well written and so will produced. Such a quality piece.

I loved Sprocket as a kid. He was the perfect dog.

CBC aired this in prime-time during my childhood.

That is so good to hear. I love it when people tell me about the animation that was part of their childhood. Thanks David.

The bass line at the started used to really build my excitement! I really loved how it felt so expansive,

That is so true. I used to lap it up. I was all in.
