I am very lucky to have Charlie from The Little Island and the Hungry Dog. Charlie is a copywriter working in tech. He is releasing an illustrated grade school children's novel in serial instalments
That was lovely 🥰 I think I need to go hunt out our copy of Porco Rosso now for a rewatch.
I resonated more with Spirited Away, but I can see there’s still a lot in common with the backgrounds; more than just the animation style, and especially the use of colours. I hadn’t thought about the flying in his films at all, but I can see it now you’ve pointed it out. The more fantastical films really do have ‘interesting’ clouds! ☺️😍
Charlie’s post is a real thing of beauty.
Thank you for the opportunity, Jon!
Another great Animated Anecdotes. Thanks, Charlie :)
Love how these Animated Anecdotes are spanning such contrasting animated perspectives! Great post :)
It’s fascinating to read about the cartoons different people enjoy, great post!

Thanks for sharing, Kathlyn. Spirited Away is indeed an amazing film.
Great post,Charlie. The integration of the film into your life was beautifully handled.
Thank you for the kind words, Jeffrey - really appreciate it.
