The August Monthly Roundup
The busy world of Animation throughout August.
Welcome to the monthly animation roundup here at Animated. I’ve tried to cover a vast amount here, but as ever, I am sure that some will slip through the net :)
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle – Part 1
The long-awaited climax of Demon Slayer begins with Infinity Castle, the first in a trilogy that promises to conclude the saga with emotional devastation, along with visual brilliance. Released in Japan in July and set for international rollout throughout September, this arc pits the Demon Slayer Corps against Muzan Kibutsuji in a labyrinthine fortress. The animation is a masterclass in dynamic camera work and lighting. Fans are praising the pacing and emotional weight, especially in scenes involving Tanjiro and Nezuko’s evolving unity. For me, this is really starting to show the incredible emotional depth brought to us through animation.
Bad Guys 2
Following the surprise success of the original, The Bad Guys 2 returns with even slicker visuals and a sharper script. The sequel picks up with Mr. Wolf and his reformed crew trying to stay on the straight and narrow, until a new villain frames them for a high-profile heist. The film cleverly balances action, humour, and redemption arcs, with standout sequences including a high-speed chase through a neon-lit cityscape and an amazingly touching moment between Mr. Snake and a young fan.
