Piper
OK, it’s time for the Animated Short this week. Today I have a remarkable story about a little bird named Piper! So, Piper is this incredible short film made by the people at Pixar Animation Studios, and they won an Academy Award for best short film.
Piper is a baby sandpiper, a cute, fluffy chick. She lives near the ocean and wants to find her own food. But she's afraid of the water! Every time she tries to grab some food, the waves splash her, and she gets wet and scared.
One day, her tummy starts rumbling, and she gets super hungry. She decides she must face her fears and go near the water to find some food. She sees a hermit crab digging in the sand and gets curious when a big wave comes and covers Her.
Here's the magic moment- The crab tells Piper to open her eyes underwater, and she sees a bunch of delicious food waiting for her. Piper realises the water isn't so scary after all.
Pixar used new, cutting-edge technology to make Piper look so natural. They even went to real beaches and watched birds learn how they behave, paying attention to the feathers of the sandpipers. They wanted every little detail to be perfect.
The short debuted on 17th June 2016 as the short on Finding Dory and still maintains a strong following amongst shorts fans.
It is a really well-constructed animation. Thanks for reading and commenting. :)
Thank very much. That’s kind of you. 😁
